The First Green Wave wins the 2015 J.J. Talman Award

This past Saturday I was delighted to receive the 2015 J.J. Talman Award on behalf of my book, The First Green Wave. The award, which is handed out by the Ontario Historical Society, is presented annually to "the best book on Ontario's social, economic, political, or cultural history."  The award came with a neat seal, which you can see to the left.

The award ceremony was quite spiffy. It was held at Queen's Park, and I sat just a couple feet away from a Norval Morrisseau painting. (I love Norval Morrisseau's paintings.) I met some interesting people, including two that were connected to The Air of Death documentary.
